Overview
FPV Battery Vault ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a battery tracking utility for FPV drone pilots. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information in connection with your use of it.
The short answer: it doesn't. FPV Battery Vault is a 100% offline application. It makes no network requests, has no backend server, and has no mechanism to transmit any data anywhere. Everything you enter stays on your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store externally, transmit, or share any of the following:
Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, address), location data, device identifiers, usage analytics or telemetry, crash reports or diagnostics, advertising identifiers, financial information, contacts, messages, or any other personal information.
No internet permission. The App does not request the INTERNET Android permission. It is architecturally incapable of sending data to any server.
Data Stored Locally On Your Device
The App stores the following data in a local SQLite database on your device using Android's Room persistence library. This data never leaves your device.
- ▸ Battery pack details you enter (label, cell count, capacity, brand, cycle count, status)
- ▸ Drone profiles you create (name, cell count, mAh range, emoji)
- ▸ Battery log entries (check-out/check-in timestamps, voltage readings, cycle data)
- ▸ Optional battery photos (stored as local file URIs — the image files remain in your device's storage)
- ▸ App preferences (notification thresholds, affiliate code settings) stored in SharedPreferences
You can delete individual records within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data.
Android Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions. All are used solely for features that operate locally on your device.
| Permission | Why It's Used |
|---|---|
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | To send the optional LiPo Finder reminder notification when packs have been checked out for an extended period. You can disable this entirely in Settings. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | To restart the background notification job after your device reboots. Only relevant if LiPo Finder notifications are enabled. |
| VIBRATE | Used for the urgent LiPo Finder reminder vibration pattern only. |
| CAMERA optional | To capture photos of individual battery packs. Only requested if you choose to add a photo. Images are stored locally on your device only. |
| READ_MEDIA_IMAGES optional | To select an existing photo from your gallery for a battery pack. Only requested if you choose to add a photo from your gallery. No images are read without your explicit action. |
Third-Party Services
FPV Battery Vault does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools.
The optional Deals section of the App may display affiliate links to external retailers (such as Amazon or Shopify stores). Tapping these links opens an external website in your device's browser. Once you leave the App, that website's own privacy policy governs how your data is handled. We do not share any data with these retailers — the link simply opens in your browser, the same as tapping any web link.
Affiliate codes embedded in those URLs (e.g. an Amazon Associate tag) are used solely to credit the developer with a referral commission if a purchase is made. No personal information about you is embedded in these URLs.
Children's Privacy
FPV Battery Vault does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Since no data is collected, there is no data to delete or review on behalf of a child.
Data Security
All data is stored in a standard Android SQLite database on your device, protected by your device's existing security model (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not control your device's security settings but encourage enabling device encryption and a strong screen lock.
Since no data is ever transmitted from the App, there is no risk of interception in transit.
Your Rights & Data Deletion
Because all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, your rights are exercised entirely through the App and your device:
Delete specific records: Use the delete function within the App to remove individual battery packs, drone profiles, or log entries at any time.
Delete all data: Uninstall the App from your device. This permanently removes the local database, all preferences, and any photos stored within the App's private storage directory.
If you have questions about exercising your rights, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version at this URL and update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
Any future version of the App that introduces data collection, network connectivity, or third-party analytics will require a new Privacy Policy and will be clearly communicated in the App Store listing and release notes before the update is installed.
